PJ CURTIS
Born in Kilnaboy in the Burren, County Clare, Ireland, PJ Curtis is an award-winning Broadcaster, Record Producer, Music -lecturer and published Author.
He has produced sixty record albums to date, including two-times USA NAIRD award-winning Altan, Maura O’Connell, Freddie White, Stocktons Wing, Scullion, Davy Spillane, Dolores Keane Mary Black, Arcady (featuring Frances Black) Liam Clancy & Tommy Makem, Mick Hanly, Sean Keane (The Chieftains), SeanTyrell, Mary McPartlan, and Ronan Leonard. He has also worked on studio sessions with Albert Lee, Rory Gallagher, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, Chip Young & Bob Moore (Ex Elvis sidemen)

He has lectured widely on music and related topics in Ireland, the UK and the USA.
In 2006 he was awarded an Honorary MA (The Nat. Univ of Ireland) for his contribution to the Arts in Ireland.
In February of 2011, PJ attended the University of Montana as Guest Lecturer with the Department of Irish Studies in Missoula, which included public talks in Butte and Missoula, Montana.
BROADCASTER & AUTHOR
With over 22 years as a radio broadcaster to his credit, PJ has worked with RTE Radio 1, Lyric Fm,& BBC (N.I.). He is the recipient of 3 National Broadcasting Awards for his radio programmes on Irish National radio stations RTÉ Radio 1, Century Radio and Lyric FM.
He has also earned two awards for his writing and a ‘Best Script’ Award for his work on the film adaptation of his short story, ‘The Road of Souls’ (2011).
PJ has two stage plays to his credit and has to date published five books.
In 2013 his short story ‘The Road of Souls’ was chosen for inclusion in an American Anthology ‘Burning The Midnight Oil: Illuminating Words for the Long Night’s Journey into Day’ Compiled By Phil Cousineau. Sisyphus Press USA).
Also in 2013 his most recent novel “A Nightingale Falling’ (Old Forge Books) was made into Feature Film and went on general release in Ireland in Sept of 2014 and has enjoyed several Hollywood screenings in June of ’14 and Feb ’15, winning 2 Awards at the Sky Road Film Festival (Ire) and the Newport Beach 2014 Film Festival (Calif).

PJ is currently working on a new novel (as yet untitled) and beginning in early 2016 he will co-host (along with broadcaster Danny East) on a 2-hour Roots Radio Show titled

MUSIC HISTORIAN
The summer of 2010 saw PJ work as Researcher /Music Consultant to Steven Spielberg on the movie Warhorse, which went on general release in October 2011.
From 2012 –’14 PJ worked and a Consultant//Contributor to ‘The Encyclopedia of Irish Music “, published in 2014.
